How Hearthbruk makes money
Free for agents. Free for inspectors. Free for homeowners. We make money one way: small commissions when a homeowner buys recommended gear through our links.
The short version
- Some product links on Hearthbruk — usually labeled Essentials — go to Amazon with our affiliate tag (
hearthbruk-20). - If you buy something after clicking, Amazon pays us a small percentage. Your price doesn't change.
- That commission is what keeps the portal free for your agent and free for you.
What we won't do
- No banner ads. No pop-ups. No retargeting pixels chasing you around the web.
- No selling your data to anyone. Your home profile stays between you and your agent.
- No recommending stuff that doesn't fit your home. If you don't have an irrigation system, you'll never see a sprinkler-blowout product.
How we pick what to recommend
Each maintenance task in your care plan can have an Essentials section with one to four products. We pick them based on what your home actually has — the appliances, specs, and features in your profile (some pulled from your inspection, some added by your agent or by you).
For example: if your furnace profile knows the filter size, the "Furnace filter swap" task will recommend that exact size. If we don't know it, we recommend a generic search instead and prompt you to add the size once.
